
Handel’s rarity Alessandro kicks off tonight as part of this year’s Handel Festival at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
I’m playing the role of Clito, a Macedonian general who stands up to Alexander the Great (sung by the very accomplished counter-tenorĀ Lawrence Zazzo) when he claims to be the son of Jupiter. The run has been sold out for months, so if you haven’t got a ticket… sorry!
